A Fort Bliss soldier was arrested on suspicion of sexually assaulting a young girl on the military post, court documents show.
Carlos Humberto Richard Walsh was arrested May 25 in connection with a federal charge of sexual abuse of a minor, court and jail records show.
Walsh is accused of sexual assaulting a girl between the ages of 12 to 16 years old on Fort Bliss, a federal indictment states.
The alleged sexual assault happened between Oct. 1 to Jan. 24, records state.
Walsh was ordered to turn over an iPhone 13 Pro Max cellphone to federal law enforcement, the indictment states.
No other details about the allegations are included in the indictment.
Walsh is a Fort Bliss soldier and was arrested on post, federal officials said.
Fort Bliss officials didn’t immediately provide information on Walsh’s rank or unit.
Walsh’s Facebook page states he is an aircraft mechanic at Fort Bliss. It states he is originally from Everett, Washington.
He was booked into the El Paso County Jail on May 25. He is being held without bond.
A detention hearing is scheduled for 10 a.m. June 1.
