FTX founder Sam Bankman-Fried was hit with with new federal bank fraud charges in a superseding indictment unsealed Wednesday.
Bankman-Fried is charged with four new counts of conspiracy to commit bank fraud, conspiracy to commit unlicensed money transmitting business, conspiracy to commit money laundering, conspiracy to make unlawful political contributions and defrauding the Securities and Exchange Commission.
The new charges are in addition to eight counts the embattled crypto entrepreneur pleaded not guilty to in January.
The charges against Bankman-Fried, who’s currently under house arrest in California on a $250 million bond, carry decades in prison if he is convicted.
His spokesman did not immediately respond to a request seeking comment Thursday.
