Police have made an arrest in a deadly June 20 crash that killed an elderly woman.
Undray E. Benefield, 34, of Alliance was taken into custody Thursday on warrants. He faces a felony charge of aggravated vehicular homicide and several misdemeanors.
Police reports say Benefield was driving 70 mph on South Seneca Avenue while intoxicated when he drove a car through a red light at East State Street and collided with another car around 9:20 p.m. Reports indicate the victim’s car then struck a light pole.
The driver of the other car, Virginia Graham, 85, of Beloit, died from injuries sustained in the crash. Benefield also was injured.
In addition to the felony charge, Benefield faces charges that include operating a vehicle under the influence. He remains in Stark County Jail.
