One man is dead after and police have no suspects after a shooting Sunday morning near 22 Street and Wilson Avenue.
Officers arrived at the scene around 9:20 a.m. and found the man in the street who had been shot. The victim died at the scene.
No one else was injured in the shooting.
At a press conference near the scene, LMPD Major Russ Miller said the victim appeared to be a Black man in his 20s.
No arrests have been made in connection to the shooting. There are no known suspects and detectives are continuing to canvass the area, according to LMPD spokesman Aaron Ellis.
At the time of the press conference, a large number of neighbors had gathered near the scene, which was closed by LMPD.
LMPD’s Homicide Unit is investigating the shooting. Miller said the police investigation is not limited to a specific street.
