A protest mob angry about Jordan Neely’s chokehold death took over a busy Manhattan subway stop on Saturday — with some of them even jumping to the tracks near the electrified third rail, according to police and witness video.
Police made numerous arrests, said initial reports from the Lexington Ave. and E. 63rd St. station on the Upper East Side.
Videos showed a line of protesters on one of the tracks serving the F and Q trains. At least one of them displayed protest signs.
The headlights of an incoming train could be seen up the track from the protesters.
One man stood atop the board that protects the third rail, which normally carries around 600 volts of electricity — enough to kill someone in an instant.
Subway officials shut service on the F and Q lines around 6:15 p.m. Service resumed around 7 p.m., but was delayed, the MTA said.
