A 21-year-old stabbing suspect and a woman are dead after a violent attack at Park View Apartments in Victorville, authorities said.
Around 8 p.m. Sunday, San Bernardino County deputies responded to the report of gunshots fired at the apartment complex in the 16300 block of Pebble Beach Drive.
The apartments are adjacent to Doris Davies Park and west of Rodeo Drive.
When deputies arrived, they found Mary Flores, 49, of Victorville collapsed in the parking lot of the apartment complex, suffering from stab wounds. She was rushed to the hospital, where she later died.
Deputies also found shooting suspect Ladale Sanders, 21, and a 60-year-old man, both of Victorville, inside an apartment. Sanders suffered gunshot wounds and died at the scene, sheriff’s officials said.
The 60-year-old man suffered stab wounds and was taken to a hospital for treatment. His condition is unknown, sheriff’s officials reported.
Homicide detectives took over the investigation.
Detectives believe Sanders attacked and chased a resident at the complex, striking him with a hammer. After attacking the initial victim, Sanders stabbed Flores as she attempted to leave the location, authorities said.
Sanders then ran to the 60-year-old man’s apartment, broke in, and stabbed him. After Sanders broke into the apartment, a shooting occurred inside the apartment, according to detectives.
Sheriff’s officials did not disclose a motive for the stabbing attack or if the victims knew the suspect.

This is not the first time a deadly shooting has been reported in the Doris Davis Park area. Over the years, deputies have investigated numerous violent incidents.
In May, sheriff’s homicide detectives investigated the fatal stabbing of a 24-year-old man in a neighborhood east of Doris Davies Park.
Around 10:48 a.m. on May 25, Victorville deputies responded to the 14200 block of Rodeo Drive. When deputies arrived, they found Tyreque Oshay Scott seriously injured near the front of the apartment complex.
Homicide detectives said Scott had been stabbed. The man was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he later died.
A suspect has not been identified. Further information will be released when it becomes available, authorities said.
In December 2019, Richard Ambriz, 27, of Victorville, was found dead near Doris Davies Park.
Deputies and paramedics said they discovered Ambriz lying face down and unresponsive in the street in the 16000 block of Pebble Beach Drive. The man suffered from gunshot wounds, and died at the scene.
