A Florida senior citizen is accused of driving a convertible Rolls-Royce through the backyard of a Palm Beach property, striking a $3 million coral sculpture, crashing through a seawall and winding up on a beach.
Police said the unidentified 66-year-old driver was not intoxicated, according to the Palm Beach Daily News, which said the woman had no recollection of the hours preceding the costly crash.
Photos show the back wheels of the Rolls-Royce on a seawall roughly five-feet above the car’s front wheels, which are sunk into seashore sand. The driver was reportedly taken to an area hospital following the incident, which occurred Friday around 6 p.m.
Video reportedly shows the driver coming off of Canterbury Lane, going over a curb outside the property she drove onto, then striking the sculpture before continuing through the seawall and onto the waterfront.
