A search was underway Friday after a man was shot and hospitalized in critical condition in Phoenix.
Phoenix police spokesperson Sgt. Brian Bower said officers responded to an area near 32nd Street and Earll Drive on Friday after reports of a shooting.
When they arrived, they found a man suffering from gunshot wounds. He was taken to a local hospital in critical condition, police said.
According to Bower, the shooter fled the area before police arrived at the scene and a search for the assailant was still underway.
The scene remained active as detectives continued their investigation as of Friday afternoon.
Police released no other information regarding the shooting or the identities of those involved.
