A 33-year-old man was stabbed to death on a Bronx street by an attack later seen ripping off his vest and shirt to avoid being recognized by cops, police said Tuesday.
Jermaine Williams was knifed in the abdomen on E. 167th St. near Sheridan Ave. about 7:45 p.m. Monday after getting into a quarrel with his killer, cops said.
Medics rushed Williams to Lincoln Hospital but he could not be saved.
The stabber ran off and has not been caught.
He was wearing a white collared shirt, black vest, black pants and white sneakers but was later caught on video taking off his shirt and vest, revealing a black T-shirt underneath.
Cops on Tuesday released surveillance footage of the suspect, believed to be between 18 and 25, in both outfits and asked the public’s help identifying him and tracking him down. He is described as between 5-foot-8 and 5-foot-11 and about 155 pounds.
The victim lived in the Baychester Houses, six miles north of the murder scene, according to cops.
Anyone with information about the killer is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
