An unlicensed driver sparked a chain-reaction crash involving an MTA bus that injured 15 people, one critically, police said Monday.
Chandina Jean was driving a Chevrolet Impala when she rear-ended a Toyota SUV near Essex St. and New Lots Ave. in East New York about 8:30 p.m. Sunday, cops said.
The impact sent the SUV hurtling forward, crashing into a Ford Escape waiting by a stop sign.
The Ford Escape was knocked into the intersection where it broadsided a passing B15 MTA bus, cops said.
Medics took 15 injured people, including Jean, 23, to area hospitals.
A 44-year-old woman riding in the Impala with Jean was taken to Brookdale University Hospital in critical condition, police said. Everyone else, including the drivers of the other three vehicles, suffered minor injuries.
Jean was taken to Jamaica Hospital and charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle. She was also accused of possession of a forged instrument.
