One person was found dead from an apparent gunshot wound at a South Kitsap residence Sunday, and investigators arrested a man in connection with the incident, the Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office said.
Kitsap County sheriff’s deputies and Port Orchard police were called to a residence in the 1700 block of Higgins Road, off Mile Hill Drive, at about 10:30 a.m. Sunday. A man was found dead from an apparent gunshot wound, and the suspected shooter was taken into custody, the sheriff’s office said.
Sheriff’s spokesman Kevin McCarty said Sunday afternoon that a 58-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of second-degree murder, but said he could not immediately release more information about what led up to the shooting.
