Ryan Reynolds can top the box office, but can he make a showstopper baked good?
The “Deadpool” actor is rumored to be joining “The Great British Bake Off” after posing for a photo with judges Prue Leith and Paul Hollywood outside a familiar-looking tent.
“Full and unconditional hug of pure serotonin,” Reynolds wrote on Twitter on Friday as he shared the group shot, which has racked up more than 3 million views.
The post has sparked speculation that Reynolds may be a contestant or guest host for a celebrity “GBBO” edition set to film this summer and air perhaps early next year, per Deadline.
“I hope this means you will be in an episode of ‘The Great British Bake Off’!” one fan tweeted, replying to Reynolds’ post. “This show is such a treasure.”
Since 2012, the “GBBO” franchise has hosted 11 charitable celebrity seasons under the titles “The Great Sport Relief Bake Off,” “The Great Comic Relief Bake Off,” and “The Great Stand Up to Cancer Bake Off.”
Past A-list contestants include Michael Sheen, Jameela Jamil, Teri Hatcher, John Lithgow, Daisy Ridley, James McAvoy, Ellie Goulding, and David Schwimmer.
Reynolds is a hot commodity these days, and not just in Hollywood. He co-owns the Welsh football club Wrexham A.F.C. with “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” star Rob McElhenny, as fans see in the FX docuseries “Welcome to Wrexham.”
The 46-year-old is also filming a third “Deadpool” installment, continuing a film series that has already grossed $1.5 billion worldwide. And he’s attached to sequels to his movies “Red Notice” and “Pokémon Detective Pikachu.”
Reynolds showed off questionable baking skills in 2018, as he posted an Instagram photo of a Valentine’s Day cake he made for wife Blake Lively.
“I baked this cake for my wife,” he wrote. “The icing is glue, ‘cause I’m not a scientist.”
