Edmonds police have identified a suspect who is believed to have stabbed a man to death during a carjacking Wednesday night.
Ian S. Bramel-Allen is a 43-year-old white man. He was last seen wearing a gray beanie, gray sweatpants, blue jeans, and brown boots. Bramel-Allen may have been in the area of Volunteer Park in Seattle, where Seattle police found the victim’s stolen Kia Sorento on Thursday morning.
“We believe (Bramel-Allen) was last seen in the area of Volunteer Park based on where the vehicle was, but it’s not yet been confirmed that he is the one who dropped off the vehicle,” said Edmonds PD Commander Josh McClure. “This does not appear to be a random incident. There does appear to be a connection between the victim and the suspect.”
The 37-year-old victim was stabbed in the Winco Foods parking lot along Highway 99 and 220th Street Southwest at around 8:45 p.m.
A witness told KIRO 7 that he and others tried to save the victim.
“He said, ‘You can’t stab people in the chest!’ And then it kinda alerted myself and another gentleman coming down that we better get down there and figure out what’s going on,” said John Coyle. “We went down there, and he’s on his stomach. So we just kind of rolled him over and tried to put some pressure on the chest.”
Edmonds police said they have probable cause to arrest Bramel-Allen for first-degree murder. Police are warning the public to not approach him and should instead call 911 if seen.
