The teenage suspect’s name has not been released but it’s being reported he faces several charges, including one count of attempted kidnapping/child enticement, one count of attempted assault to do great bodily harm and one count of assault and battery.
Police say the the eight-year-old girl was in her backyard when the alleged attacker emerged from some woods, grabbed her, and covered her mouth.
It was then that her 13-year-old brother used a slingshot to hit the suspect in the head and chest.
Authorities said the suspect was found with visible wounds from the slingshot.
Police arrested the alleged attacker based on a physical description obtained from a family member who witnessed him fleeing the area.
