A 16-year-old boy York boy was shot and killed Sunday during an altercation at a residence in Conewago Township, Adams County, according to Conewago Township Police and the Adams County Coroner’s Office.
Connor Mays was shot at about 2 p.m. in a residence in the 300 block of Third Street, the coroner’s office reported.
Conewago Township Police have charged 21-year-old David C. Galemore of the 400 block of High Street in Hanover in the homicide, according to court records. He is being held in Adams County Prison without bail.
When an officer arrived at the home in the village of Midway, a 16-year-old boy said he needed help, according to an affidavit of probable cause. As the officer approached the door, he saw the body of the boy, who appeared to be deceased, laying just inside.
The teen told a detective that he was upstairs in the bathroom when the victim said he heard someone coming in through the window, the affidavit states. Mays ran downstairs. By the time the teen got there, the victim and Galemore were involved in an altercation.
The teen saw Galemore pull out a handgun, and he heard multiple shots, the affidavit states.
A short time later, Pennsylvania State Police had Galemore in custody at the Gettysburg barracks, the affidavit states.
