Hilary Swank’s family just doubled in number. The “Alaska Daily” star and her husband, Philip Schneider, are now the parents of twins, as she revealed on Instagram.
“It wasn’t easy. But boy (and girl!) was it worth it,” Swank wrote in a post on Sunday.
The Oscar winner also shared a photo of her cradling her newborns — one on each shoulder — as they watch the sun cut through the clouds over a body of water.
Other celebrities — including Viola Davis, Chelsea Handler, and Kate Hudson — commented on the post to congratulate the new mother.
“Welcome home angels,” Mariska Hargitay wrote.
Swank, who was previously married to “Quiet Days in Hollywood” costar Chad Lowe, tied the knot with Schneider in 2018, with Hargitay as her maid of honor.
Last October, the 48-year-old revealed on “Good Morning America” that she and her husband, an entrepreneur, were expecting twins.
“This is something that I’ve been wanting for a long time and my next thing is I’m gonna be a mom,” she said at the time. “And not just of one, but of two. … I can’t believe it.”
Swank elaborated on her pregnancy later that month, telling Extra that motherhood is something that she had been thinking since she was a young girl. “It’s something that was on my mind, and so it’s just nice to be here and just be pregnant, you know?” she said.
The “Million Dollar Baby” actor explained at the time that “having a career and just not having the right relationship until four years ago” delayed that plan. But after marrying Schneider, she was ready to start a family.
Swank also reflected on how her twins’ due date fell on her late father’s birthday. “It’s so beautiful, how it’s all aligning,” she said.
