Call it Reinventing Anna? Anna Delvey, the convicted fraudster who conned the New York elite into thinking she was a German heiress, is launching a podcast with plans of releasing her first music single on the series.
“The Anna Delvey Show,” a production of Audio Up and Reunion Audio, will feature Delvey chatting with celebrity guests from her East Village apartment, where she’s under house arrest.
Her guests include Julia Cumming, Whitney Cummings, Julia Fox, Jeremy Harris, Emily Ratajkowski and Kenny Schachter, according to an Audio Up announcement on YouTube.
The podcast news comes more than a year after Netflix released the Shonda Rhimes series “Inventing Anna,” in which Julia Garner portrayed Delvey.
“You might recognize my name as a character in a Netflix series, but now, you get to meet the real me,” Delvey says in a trailer for the podcast. “On this show, I will dive into the concept of rules and talk with the people who create or break them, from art, politics, fashion, tech, finance, law and more. ‘The Anna Delvey Show’ will share honest, unfiltered conversations that will question traditional notions of what’s right and wrong.
Audio Up also notes that the podcast series will be where Delvey debuts her first music single, featuring lyrics by Delvey and production by Audio Up CEO Jared Gutstadt and Reunion Audio founder Sean Glass.
“This will be the first time I have my own platform to share my personal views on the public’s fascination with my life story while in conversation with guests across multiple industries including business, media, entertainment, art and more,” Delvey explained in a statement about the series. “I’m interested in examining how rule-breaking can build you up as well as tear you down while also creating a polarizing reaction from the public.”
In April 2019, Delvey was convicted of second-degree grand larceny, theft of services, and one count of first-degree attempted grand larceny after Manhattan prosecutors said she swindled $275,000 from both individuals and institutions.
Delvey was sentenced to four to 12 years in prison in May 2019 but was released from prison in February 2021. She then spent 18 months behind bars for overstaying her visa before being released from immigration detention in October 2022.
