Brittney Taylor, an alum of VH1′s “Love & Hip Hop: New York,” has reportedly been arrested and charged with assault after allegedly hitting the father of her children with a baseball bat.
TMZ reports Taylor got into an altercation with a man identified as Afeez, with whom she has two children, a 2-year-old and an 8-month-old. An arrest warrant was issued, and Taylor turned herself in last week, according to the site.
A source told TMZ that Afeez flew to New York to see the kids, and that during the visit, he angered Taylor by ignoring something she said.
In a criminal complaint obtained by TMZ, Afeez said Taylor then punched him in the face in front of the kids and hit him with a baseball bat. After the alleged altercation, Afeez went to the hospital and got stitches for a wound above his eye.
Now Taylor is charged with two counts of assault, one count of endangering the welfare of a child, and one count of criminal possession of a weapon, TMZ adds.
Taylor was a supporting cast member on the eighth season of “Love & Hip Hop: New York,” with VH1 billing her as a “young, hungry female rapper” who was trying to take the spot of fellow rapper Bianca Bonnie.
She previously made headlines in 2019, when a judge granted a woman a temporary order of protection against Taylor after she allegedly threw a phone at the woman and scratched her neck in a fight at a Manhattan apartment complex, as TMZ reported at the time.
Earlier that year, Taylor claimed that “Love & Hip Hop: New York” costar Remy Ma punched her in the eye at a benefit concert at New York City’s Irving Plaza. Remy Ma was charged with four counts of misdemeanor assault and harassment, but prosecutors dropped the charges months later after an eyewitness turned uncooperative.
