Fans of Queen Bey’s latest album, “Renaissance,” have a new fashion collection to be abuzz about.
Beyoncé announced Friday she has created a haute couture collection in collaboration with Balmain’s creative director, Olivier Rousteing.
“Thank you @olivier_rousteing and @balmain for bringing RENAISSANCE to life in couture,” the singer-songwriter wrote on Instagram, with an image of her appearing in the April cover story of Vogue France.
“Designing alongside you was freeing,” she continued. “Thank you for allowing me to celebrate the human form, to take artistic risks, to push boundaries and to freely express myself.”
Adorned in one of the collaboration’s looks — a bedazzled formfitting dress with a matching chapeau — she thanked the magazine for “trusting” in their vision and “sharing it with the world.”
She also included lyrics from “I’m That Girl,” the opening track on “Renaissance” — “Touching everything in my plain view, and everything next to me gets lit up, too.”
Each design in the 17-piece collection was inspired by “a certain track, and often even a certain lyric” from “Renaissance,” Vogue reported.
In another post shared by Balmain’s official account, the 41-year-old singer called Rousteing “a dream collaborator and a constantly innovating and evolving creative.”
“All that he has done as a Black designer in breaking down and opening doors has been inspiring,” she continued. “From our very first meeting, to his designs over the years for my performances and appearances, I knew one day I would work with him on a collection. I am so proud of what we created and the synergy that formed between our teams.”
The 37-year-old Rousteing, who started his career with Roberto Cavalli, joined Balmain in 2009. At age 25, he became the luxury label’s creative director.
Throughout the past decade, Beyoncé has worn many of Balmain’s designs for red carpet appearances and international tour dates, most notably the white custom lace bodysuit she performed in onstage during 2016′s “Formation World Tour.”
Rousteing reportedly worked in partnership with Beyoncé and her stylist Marni Senofonte for the past five months on the collection. Beyoncé recently wore two of their looks to the 2023 Grammys and the BRIT Awards.
