A Montgomery man has been charged with attempted murder in connection with a stabbing at a busy downtown Aurora bar Friday evening, police said.
Patrick Lerette, 26, of the 100 block of Sherman Avenue, has been charged with attempted murder, aggravated battery causing bodily harm, aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and aggravated battery in a public property, all felonies, Aurora police said Sunday morning in a news release.
Police responded to reports that someone had been stabbed inside a business in the 100 block of West Downer Place shortly before 8 p.m. Friday, officials said.
A man was found inside the bar with apparent stab wounds and was taken to a local hospital. He is in stable condition, police said.
Police saw Lerette outside the establishment and witnesses identified him as the offender, officials said. Police also said they recovered a knife at the scene.
No other injuries were reported during the incident.
