Jamie Foxx’s daughter has shut down internet rumors claiming that her family is “preparing for the worst” following her father’s mystery medical emergency.
Corinne Foxx took to Instagram Friday, saying her father has been out of the hospital for weeks and is physically active.
“Sad to see how the media runs wild,” the “Beat Shazam” co-host said in response to theories that her dad’s condition was declining. TMZ reported that some online were even claiming Foxx was on life support.
“My dad has been out of the hospital for weeks, recuperating,” Corinne wrote on her Instagram Story. “In fact, he was playing pickleball yesterday! Thanks for everyone’s prayers and support!”
Corinne also hinted at a potential project she and her father have in the works, saying the family has an “exciting work announcement” coming at some point next week.
It was more than four weeks ago that Jamie Foxx was first hospitalized in Atlanta due to an undisclosed medical emergency.
The 55-year-old Academy Award winner has not been seen in public since, and his hosting duties on FOX’s “Beat Shazam” have been taken over temporarily by Nick Cannon. Kelly Osbourne has also stepped in for Corinne in the role of DJ.
Corinne has been sharing updates on her father’s condition periodically throughout the health scare.
It was the 29-year-old who first revealed the news that her dad had “experienced a medical complication” which required him to be hospitalized. “Due to quick action and great care, he is already on his way to recovery,” she said at the time.
