A Brooklyn teacher was arrested for shoving a 13-year-old student into a bookshelf in a clash over a computer tablet, police said Tuesday.
Joshua Kahn, 59, is charged with assault, endangering the welfare of a child and harassment for the 1 p.m. Monday incident at New Voices School of Academic & Creative Arts in South Slope.
The student was trying to get a tablet when Kahn allegedly shoved her six or so times and the victim fell back into a bookshelf in the school on 18th St. near Sixth Ave.
The student suffered pain and bruising to her back, police said.
Cops arrested Kahn later that day.
“This alleged behavior is very troubling and completely unacceptable,” said Jenna Lyle, a spokeswoman for the public schools. “This employee has been reassigned away from the school and students pending the outcome of the arrest, and if convicted, we will pursue termination. Nothing is more important than the safety and well-being of our students.”
