A motorcyclist died early Tuesday after he crashed and flew off an elevated Bronx highway, police said.
The victim was zipping north on the Major Deegan Expressway when his Suzuki slammed into a barrier off the far right lane near Exit 2 in Mott Haven about 4:30 a.m., cops said.
The motorcyclist flew off the bike and plummeted off the elevated highway, landing on Brook Ave. below.
He died at the scene. Cops were trying to identify him Tuesday. He is believed to be in his 20s.
Tuesday’s crash marks the second time in three days a motorcyclist died on city roadways.
About 4:35 a.m. Saturday, a 22-year-old motorcyclist was thrown from his bike on the eastbound Long Island Expressway near Woodhaven Blvd. in Elmhurst, Queens, and run over by the driver of a passing truck, police said. He died at the scene.
As of Thursday, cops have seen a slight jump in motorcyclist deaths, from seven by this point last year to nine so far this year.
