A Pace man has been arrested in connection with a homicide investigation Saturday, according to the Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office.
Jeffrey Todd Stahler, 61, is facing charges of first-degree felony homicide: murder dangerous depraved without premeditation, third-degree felony obstructing justice: tampering with evidence in criminal proceeding, second-degree felony assault: aggravated assault on officer, and third-degree felony resisting officer: with violence.
At approximately 4:30 p.m. Saturday, the SRSO received a report that a body had been found in the 4100 block of Diamond Street in Pace.
When SRSO deputies arrived on scene, Stahler attempted to flee the area but was ultimately detained, according to an SRSO news release.
Investigators located the body and determined a homicide occurred due to the nature of wounds sustained by the deceased. Stahler was arrested and transported to Santa Rosa County Jail.
The identity of the victim and the nature of their injuries have not been released at this time.
