Detectives are trying to identify a bicyclist critically injured by a crash with a vehicle in Brooklyn crash, police said Saturday.
The unidentified pedaler, believed to be in his mid-30s or early 40s, was nearing the corner of Nostrand Ave. and Avenue R in Sheepshead Bay about 9:15 p.m. Friday when he collided with a Nissan SUV driven by a 50-year-old man.
When first responders arrived, the bicyclist was sprawled out on the asphalt, suffering from massive injuries.
He was taken to NYU Langone Hospital-Brooklyn, where he was listed in critical condition and put on a respirator.
Responding officers didn’t find any ID on the bicyclist and were struggling to identify him. Cops on Saturday released images of the victim and a few of his tattoos in the hope that someone knows who he is.
The bicyclist is Hispanic, about 5-foot-7 and 150 pounds with brown eyes and black hair. His tattoos, which are on his left arm, include an anarchy symbol and a white rabbit in a soccer jersey and cleats. The rabbit has a soccer ball under his right foot.
He also has another tattoo on the top of his left hand.
Anyone with information regarding the man’s identity is urged to call NYPD Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
The Nissan driver remained at the scene of the crash. No criminal charges were immediately filed.
