Police are investigating a shooting that killed a man Wednesday night in Riviera Beach.
Officers responded to a ShotSpotter alert on the 400 block off President Barack Obama Highway, near the West Palm Beach border, at about 9:30 p.m. and found a man dead from gunshot wounds.
Police did not disclose the deceased man’s name, saying his family invoked its right to privacy under a 2018 state constitutional amendment that allows crime victims or their families to shield their identities from public reports.
A police spokesperson described the shooting as an isolated incident and said there was no danger to the public.
Investigators are seeking assistance from anyone with information about the shooting.
