A woman avoided injury late Monday when someone fired multiple times into a Bedford Township motel room, the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office reported.
Monroe County sheriff’s detectives are investigating the shooting that took place at the Bedford Inn on Telegraph Road. Deputies received a report of multiple shots being fired at about 11 p.m. Monday at the motel, a news release from the sheriff’s office said. Upon arrival, deputies learned shots were fired into a motel room that was occupied by a 31-year-old woman. After the shooting, the woman escaped the room unharmed.
The suspect is a male who is currently unknown to law enforcement, the release said. Detectives gathered information and evidence from the scene that will aide in the identification of the suspect.
The incident remains under investigation by the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office Detective Bureau. Anyone with information is asked to contact detectives at 734-240-7530.
