A Queens man was shot dead steps from his home early Sunday, cops said.
Emanuel Pippis, 44, was shot in the head outside Paraguayan Steakhouse on 65th Place near 53rd Drive in Maspeth about 3:50 a.m., cops said. He died at the scene.
The gunfire awoke a 12-year-old girl who lives on the block.
“I heard two shots,” the girl said. “I opened the window and I just see a body lying there.”
“I asked my mom what happened and she said someone got shot,” she added. “It was really, really, really loud and it sounded like it was a big gun, something really powerful.”
Police have made no arrests as they look for witnesses and surveillance video.
Pippis’ murder is the second homicide this year in the normally sleepy 104th Precinct, which saw no homicides at all 2020 through 2022.
“There’s barely any crimes here,” said neighbor Jay Rahman, 33. “I’ve been here for a year now and I’ve never heard of a shooting.”
He said the block is especially quiet in the middle of the night.
“Nothings open,” he said. “Streets are clear. There’s literally no cars on the road, no people on the road.”
On Jan. 11, police found Alexa Ruiz, 23, shot in the back of the head in the bedroom of her 56th Drive home, less than a mile from Pippis’ block. Her murder remains unsolved.
