One person died in an apartment building fire in Queens on Saturday afternoon, the Fire Department said.
The fire erupted at around 4:25 p.m. on the fourth floor of a six-story apartment building on 88th St. near Roosevelt Ave. in Jackson Heights, authorities said.
Sixty firefighters arrived to fight the blaze, which they brought under control by 4:50 p.m., officials said.
EMS pronounced one person dead at the scene, FDNY officials said. No other injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire was not immediately clear.
