Tulare homicide detectives are asking for the public’s help to find a 21-year-old Tipton man wanted in connection with a deadly shooting.
Detectives identified James Myron Mitchell as the possible killer in the recent homicide of John White III.
“Mitchell should be considered armed and dangerous,” Sgt. Andy Garcia stated in a press release.
Around 1:53 a.m. Thursday, 911 dispatchers received a call of gunshots heard in the Valley Oak apartment complex, located in the 300 block of West Street. The caller told dispatchers there was a person lying on the ground just a block from Family Dollar Store and the indoor swap meet.
When officers arrived, they found White suffering from a gunshot wound. The 54-year-old Tulare man died at the scene, Sgt. Rosa Moreno said.
The motive and relationship between White and Mitchell are unknown and police haven’t release any potential motive.
If anyone has information on Mitchell’s whereabouts, they are urged to call the Tulare Police Department or their local law enforcement agency.
Anyone with information on the case can call Detective Mike Melikian at 685-2300 ext. 2155.
