Collier County deputies continue to investigate a stabbing on Sunday at Aaron Lutz Park in Naples.
The stabbing victim suffered serious injuries and was treated at Gulf Coast Medical Hospital in Fort Myers, according to an incident report. The suspect also punched a second victim, deputies said.
Two victims described the suspect as wearing a black hat, black shirt and black pants in a report from the Collier County Sheriff’s Office. He was a stranger to both of them.
Deputies responded to the scene around 10 p.m. Sunday. They attempted to, but couldn’t, find the suspect.
One victim had a stab wound to the lower abdomen.
According to the report, the incident began at the victiim’s apartment, where the suspect stood outside. Someone at the residence asked the man why he was there, and the suspect punched them in the face and ran.
The two victims looked for the suspect and found him in the park, 4401 23rd Ave. SW, according to the report. One of them asked him why he punched the other victim, and he responded by taking out a small knife, stabbing the victim and running.
Deputies had not made an arrest as of Monday afternoon.
