A Bronx man surrendered to cops Friday morning in connection with a Soundview stabbing in May that left another man dead.
Johancris Vargas, 26, is now staring down a murder charge in connection with the death of Jefferson De La Cruz, 26, on May 6th.
That’s when police say Vargas left the other Bronx resident dying on Colgate Ave. with two stab wounds to his torso.
Police say that Vargas walked into the 43rd Precinct stationhouse in Soundview about 9 a.m. Friday, and that he lives just a half mile from the precinct.
In addition to the murder charge, he faces one count of manslaughter in the first degree and a weapons charge, though it’s not clear if a weapon had been recovered in connection with the stabbing.
A police spokesperson said that Vargas had two prior arrests for grand larceny in 2019.
Vargas’s lawyer declined to comment.
