American fourth seed Jessica Pegula claimed a comfortable 6-4 6-0 win over Italy’s Elisabetta Cocciaretto in the third round.

American Christopher Eubanks pulled off an upset 6-3 3-6 6-2 7-6(3) win over Britain’s 12th seed Cameron Norrie to reach the third round.
1620 TSURENKO BEATS BOGDAN AFTER MARATHON TIEBREAKER
Ukraine’s Lesia Tsurenko and Romania’s Ana Bogdan played the longest tiebreak in women’s Grand Slam history and Tsurenko won it 20-18 to seal a 4-6 6-3 7-6(18) victory in a third-round match lasting three hours 40 minutes.
1528 SINNER BOUNCES BACK, AZARENKA BEATS KASATKINA
Italian Jannik Sinner, the eighth seed, came from a set down to beat France’s Quentin Halys 3-6 6-2 6-3 6-4 and reach the fourth round.
Twice Grand Slam winner Victoria Azarenka overcame Russian 11th seed Daria Kasatkina 6-2 6-4 in the third round.
1505 ALCARAZ EASES INTO THIRD ROUND
World number one Carlos Alcaraz made a number of unforced errors but easily overcame Frenchman Alexandre Muller 6-4 7-6(2) 6-3 without dropping serve to reach the third round.
1457 ZVEREV SAFELY THROUGH TO THIRD ROUND
German Alexander Zverev, playing on consecutive days due to the backlog of matches, beat Japan’s Yosuke Watanuki 6-4 5-7 6-2 6-2 to set up a third-round clash with Matteo Berrettini.
1406 SABALENKA LIVES TO FIGHT ANOTHER DAY
Second seed and Australian Open champion Aryna Sabalenka fought back from a set down and 5-4 down in the second to beat Varvara Gracheva 2-6 7-5 6-2, sealing victory with a searing ace to reach the third round.
1400 HURKACZ DEFEATS MUSETTI IN BATTLE OF SEEDS
Poland’s 17th seed Hubert Hurkacz beat Lorenzo Musetti7-6(4) 6-4 6-4 to move into the fourth round.
1330 BERRETTINI DISPATCHES DE MINAUR IN STRAIGHT SETS
Matteo Berrettini stunned Australian 15th seed Alex De Minaur with a 6-3 6-4 6-4 victory on Court 18 as the Italian looks to rediscover his form after injuries dropped him from number six in the world to outside the top 30.

Sixth seed Holger Rune overcame Roberto Carballes Baena 6-3 7-6(3) 6-4 despite making nearly 50 unforced errors.
1215 MEDVEDEV BEATS MANNARINO IN STRAIGHT SETS
Third seed Daniil Medvedev beat Adrian Mannarino 6-3 6-3 7-6(5) after their match was suspended on Thursday due to poor light.
1122 KVITOVA SAILS INTO THIRD ROUND
Twice Wimbledon champion Petra Kvitova struggled with her first serve but the ninth seed still beat Aliaksandra Sasnovich 6-2 6-2 with a flurry of winners.
American Madison Keys also moved into the third round after she beat Viktorija Golubic 7-5 6-3.
1046 BADOSA RETIRES AFTER MEDICAL TIMEOUT
Paula Badosa retired from her second-round match against Marta Kostyuk while trailing 6-2 1-0.
Former world number two Badosa was playing in her first tournament since the Italian Open in May after a stress fracture in her spine ruled her out of the French Open.

Play began under sunny skies, with the temperature hovering around 24 degrees Celsius. Britain’s Met Office has forecast a rain-free day.
