Riley Keough will be sole trustee of Lisa Marie Presley’s estate after a legal battle with her grandmother, Priscilla Presley.
Keough, 34, filed a court petition Monday in Los Angeles to approve the settlement she reached with Priscilla, 78, back in May, Entertainment Tonight reported.
If approved by a judge, the deal will end a messy battle over Lisa Marie’s reported multimillion-dollar estate, which includes ownership of Graceland.
After Lisa Marie died suddenly in January at 54, documents listed her two children with musician Danny Keough — Riley and Ben — as trustees of her estate. Ben died by suicide in 2020, which would have left Riley in charge.
However, Priscilla contested the files, claiming that Lisa Marie’s signature was fishy and that she hadn’t been notified of the change, as she was previously listed as the trustee.
Keough and Priscilla settled their competing claims in May. The deal resulted in Keough gaining control of the trust and Priscilla receiving a one-time payment, according to Entertainment Tonight. Sources told TMZ that Priscilla received a seven-figure payout.
According to the court documents filed Monday, Priscilla will be allowed to be buried at Graceland, even as Keough will own the property, the Los Angeles Times reported. Previous reports suggested Priscilla had been denied her wish to be buried next to Elvis at the Memphis mansion.
After the settlement, both sides claimed the Presley family was happy and harmonious, with Priscilla’s attorney declaring, “Everyone is happy. Unified and together and excited for the future.”
But Keough’s lawyers continued to swipe at Priscilla in Monday’s filings, according to Entertainment Tonight. The documents said Keough would not request a trustee fee while claiming that Priscilla had planned to charge one if she had controlled the trust.
