For actors Naomi Watts and Billy Crudup, life is finally imitating art.
The stars who met playing husband and wife on “Gypsy” in 2017 married in real life on Saturday.
The Australian actress announced her nuptials to Crudup, currently starring on Apple TV’s “The Morning Show,” on Instagram over the weekend.
“Hitched!” Watts captioned an Instagram photo on Saturday, posting a slate of snaps of the beaming couple, sometimes surrounded by friends, on her Sunday Instagram stories.
Clad in a sleeveless, lace Oscar de la Renta gown and clutching a flower bouquet “from the deli,” Watts and Crudup, both 54, posed on the steps of what looked like a courthouse.
Congratulations and heart emojis flowed, from the likes of Amy Sedaris, Isla Fisher, Chloe Sevigny and Jennifer Coolidge, along with Julianna Margulies, weighing in from their own verified Instagram accounts.
Among the kudos of note was one from ex Live Schreiber, who she was married to until their 2016 split. They have two kids together. Crudup has a daughter with actress Mary Louise Parker.
Also weighing in: Michelle Pfeiffer, Mia Farrow, and TV personality Andy Cohen, who said, “I feel partially responsible for this,” to which Watts replied, “yes you can take a decent to large portion of the credit,” followed by two laughing emojis.
While they started dating in 2017, the pair did not “go public” officially until appearing together on the red carpet at the SAG awards in February 2022.
