It’s too soon to say they’re never, ever getting back together, but Taylor Swift and Matty Healy have apparently broken up.
TMZ reported the breakup on Monday, citing a source “close to the situation” who says that Swift is “single.”
The reported split comes a month after Healy was spotted at back-to-back Taylor Swift concerts in Nashville, sparking speculation that the duo had gotten together this year after a rumored fling in 2014.
Swift, whose split from actor Joe Alwyn made headlines earlier this year, also joined Healy’s band, The 1975, at one of its London concerts in January, covering the group’s song “The City” and performing her hit “Anti-Hero” live for the first time.
As the month of May went on, Swift and Healy were spotted holding hands and leaving a Greenwich Village recording studio together.
Swift’s relationship with the English singer-songwriter angered some fans, though, and a group of Swifties wrote the 33-year-old an open letter calling out Healy’s history of controversial and offensive remarks.
On Twitter, Swift hasn’t commented on her reported hook-up with and break-up from Healy, but she is hyping up her upcoming re-release of “Speak Now.” On Monday, the pop star posted the back cover of “Speak Now (Taylor’s Version)” on Twitter.
That back cover reveals that the re-release will feature all 14 songs from the 2010 original plus two from its deluxe version — all of which Swift has re-recorded — as well as six songs “from the vault.” Those six bonus tracks include collaborations with Fall Out Boy and Paramore’s Hayley Williams.
“Since ‘Speak Now’ was all about my songwriting, I decided to go to the artists who I feel influenced me most powerfully as a lyricist at that time and ask them to sing on the album,” Swift wrote in her Twitter post. “They’re so cool and generous for agreeing to support my version of ‘Speak Now.’ I recorded this album when I was 32 (and still growing up, now) and can’t wait to unveil it all to you on July 7th.”
