City police are looking to identity a seriously injured woman who was struck by a vehicle on Milton Road Friday night, as well as the driver who allegedly hit her.
The woman was reported to be on the ground alongside Milton Road about 10:22 p.m., according to police, adding they arrived to find her unconscious with a head injury on the the northbound side.
Police said an initial investigation indicates the woman was walking and pushing an unoccupied baby stroller when she was struck from behind by a northbound vehicle. The vehicle was not there when police arrived.
The woman was transported to Portsmouth Regional Hospital by Frisbie Memorial Hospital EMS. She was wearing a purple shirt, blue sweatshirt, white pants and black shoes, according to police.
Damage to the vehicle is expected to be mostly on the front passenger’s side, with potential damage to the hood and windshield, police said.
