All the social media posts about Leonardo DiCaprio dating a 19-year-old might be much ado about nothing.
A source close to DiCaprio tells TMZ the actor is not dating 19-year-old model Eden Polani, even though the duo was spotted shoulder-to-shoulder at a music release party for Ebony Riley’s EP last week in Los Angeles.
The outlet’s source adds that DiCaprio and Polani just happened to be seated next to each other as they hung out at the party.
Following that appearance, Twitter users found ways to illustrate the age difference between DiCaprio, 48, and his rumored new love interest.
“Leonardo DiCaprio’s 19 year old girlfriend is so young that her high school experience was affected by COVID,” one person tweeted.
Another Twitter user uploaded a stock image of a sperm cell, writing, “Leonardo DiCaprio’s 19 year old girlfriend Eden Polani when ‘Titanic’ was released.”
Others, meanwhile, have compared DiCaprio and Polani to “The Last of Us” costars Pedro Pascal, 47, and Bella Ramsey, 19. “Another [way] of thinking about how weird Leonardo DiCaprio’s age gap with his new 19 y.o. girlfriend: It’s the same as these two,” a Twitter user tweeted alongside a photo of Pascal and Ramsey.
Commenters also expressed astonishment at DiCaprio and Polani’s age gap on TikTok, as BuzzFeed News reports. “He was her age in 1993,” one person observed.
“He was 10 years out of high school when she was born,” someone else said.
“It’s also a whole Harry Styles in between them,” a third user chimed in.
DiCaprio has seemingly never dated anyone older than 25, at least not publicly. His last long-term romance was a four-year relationship with model Camila Morrone, which ended last summer.
Morrone, now 25, actually addressed her and DiCaprio’s age gap in a 2019 interview with the Los Angeles Times. “There’s so many relationships in Hollywood — and in the history of the world — where people have large age gaps,” she said at the time. “I just think anyone should be able to date who they want to date.”
