The Washington, D.C. home of right-wing activist Steve Bannon appears to have been swatted again.
Police and rescue workers responded to a shooting call at Bannon’s Thursday morning.
“At approximately 10:32am, MPD responded to the 200 block of A Street NE, for the report of a shooting,” D.C.’s Metropolitan Police Department told the Us.Mistertruth. “Preliminarily, this appears to be a false call. MPD searched the area and nothing was found.”
DC Real Time News reported the incident centered around Bannon’s house.
The 69-year-old podcaster’s home has previously been targeted in pranks where police and rescue crews were dispatched.
In July 2022, cops responded to “a report of an individual with a mental health crisis” claiming to have shot someone, however police found no evidence of gunfire at Bannon’s Northeast quadrant rowhouse.
Conservative media sites claimed the house was targeted again in September. Such calls are generally intended to startle individuals with the sudden appearance of well-armed S.W.A.T. units.
Bannon served as a strategist in the Donald Trump administration. His spreading of disinformation and inflammatory rhetoric has led to suspensions from social media platforms.
Bannon, who pushed Trump’s false claims about the 2020 election being rigged, was pardoned by his former boss in 2021 after being charged by federal officials with scamming MAGA supporters out of money they allegedly believed would be spent on a border wall. He still faces state charges in New York, which he calls “a sham.”
A request for comment to “War Room with Steve Bannon” was not immediately returned.
