Two women from Colombia are facing multiple charges after police found them in possession Saturday night of six cellphones stolen at SunFest, police said.
According to the West Palm Beach Police Department, multiple people reported to police that their cellphones had been stolen during the SunFest music festival in West Palm Beach.
Police were able to track down the two suspects at the festival based on descriptions given from the victims.
Police found a total of six phones on the suspects. The women are being charged with multiple counts of grand theft and resisting arrest with violence.
The suspects refused to give their names or identification to law enforcement officers, police spokesperson Mike Jachles said in an emailed statement. Police took the women to police headquarters, and they will later be taken to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office Main Detention Center, Jachles said early Sunday.
