Aerosmith is embarking on a farewell tour — and doesn’t want fans to miss a thing.
The Grammy-winning rock band on Monday announced its 39-concert “Peace Out” tour, which includes stops at Madison Square Garden, Newark’s Prudential Center and UBS Arena in Elmont, N.Y.
“After 50 years, 10 world tours, and playing for over 100 million fans… It’s time for one last go!” the band wrote on Instagram.
The group known for hits including “Dream On,” “Walk This Way” and “I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing” is scheduled to perform at UBS Arena on Sept. 9, the Prudential Center on Dec. 28 and the Garden on Jan. 19.
Aerosmith kicks off the tour Sept. 2 in Philadelphia and is scheduled to wrap up on Jan. 26 in Montreal. The band is also set to perform in Chicago, Los Angeles, Buffalo, Toronto and Boston, where it originated in 1970.
“It’s not goodbye it’s PEACE OUT!” Aerosmith’s members said in a joint statement. “Get ready and walk this way, you’re going to get the best show of our lives.”
The Black Crowes will join Aerosmith throughout the farewell tour, which begins selling tickets Friday at 10 a.m. local time through Ticketmaster.
Aerosmith announced the farewell tour with a two-minute scripted video showing fans and celebrities including Ringo Starr, Dolly Parton, Slash and Bill Burr dramatically reacting to the news.
“It’s true,” New York-born frontman Steven Tyler, 75, says in the clip. “All I can say is peace out!”
Aerosmith performed a Las Vegas residency during much of 2019. The band resumed the residency there last year, canceling multiple concerts in May before returning in September.
“Our beloved brother Steven has worked on his sobriety for many years,” the band said last May. “After foot surgery to prepare for the stage and the necessity of pain management during the process, he has recently relapsed and voluntarily entered a treatment program to concentrate on his health and recovery.”
In December, the band canceled the final two concerts of the residency due to Tyler dealing with an illness.
