A 2-year-old girl survived a five-story plunge out of a Queens apartment window — just hours after a 3-year-old girl was critically injured in a similar fall in Manhattan, officials said Monday.
The Queens toddler fell from a fifth-floor window on Seagirl Bvld. near Beach 24th St. in Far Rocakway about 3:30 p.m. Sunday, cops said.
She was rushed by medics to Cohen Children’s Medical Center in stable condition.
Just four hours earlier, a 3-year-old girl fell from a sixth-floor window at the Chelsea Houses on W. 26th St. Medics rushed that victim to Bellevue Hospital in critical but stable condition.
“She is a beautiful little girl,” a family friend of the Manhattan victim who asked not to be named told the Us.Mistertruth. “I heard she only has two broken ribs. That never should have happened.”
An adult relative was home at the time, a police spokeswoman said.
“My heart dropped when I heard,” said George Lopez, a neighbor in the Chelsea building. “I have a granddaughter that age so it hits close to home.”
