A Springfield man accused in the 2018 fatal shooting at the FasMart/Marathon convenience store at 2900 South Grand Ave. E. will stand trial for first degree murder starting Monday.
The bench trial is in front of Chief Circuit Judge John M. “Mo” Madonia.
Keshon L. McClinton, 23, is accused of shooting Javonne Harris, 22, also of Springfield, while Harris was shopping in the store in the early morning hours of March 9, 2018.
Harris was taken to HSHS St. John’s Hospital, where he died.
McClinton was apprehended several months later by U.S. Marshals and brought back to Springfield.
McClinton is being represented by Mark Wykoff.
First assistant state’s attorney Derek Dion and assistant state’s attorney Kaylan Beard are handling the case for the state.
