Kelly Clarkson is bringing some “Chemistry” to Las Vegas.
On Monday, one day after announcing her album of that name, Clarkson revealed that she’ll be performing a residency at the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Vegas this summer over several weeks.
The residency, titled “Chemistry… an Intimate Night With Kelly Clarkson,” will run between July 28 and August 19 at Planet Hollywood’s Bakkt Theater.
“I am so excited for these shows and couldn’t think of a better place to get back on stage than Las Vegas!” the pop star said in a press release, per Variety. “The crowds in Vegas are such an amazing collection of people that simply want to have a great time, and that’s what we’re going to do! So many of my musical idols have had, and still have, incredible residencies on The Strip, and I’m so excited to create my own!”
Clarkson will be performing shows on July 28 and 29 and August 2, 4, 5, 9, 11, 12, 18, and 19. Tickets go on sale on Ticketmaster this Friday, March 31, at 10 a.m. PT, though a fan presale starts on Tuesday, March 28, at 12 p.m. PT. Additionally, Citi cardmembers can access a presale of their own between Tuesday, March 28, at 10 a.m. PT, and Thursday, March 30, at 10 p.m. PT.
As People notes, the residency marks Clarkson’s first official concert series since her 2019 “Meaning of Life” tour. The singer had to call off her 2020 “Invincible” residency in Las Vegas amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
On Sunday, Clarkson announced “Chemistry,” her forthcoming tenth studio album, saying that the release will trace “the arc of an entire relationship.” The Texas native finalized her divorce from Brandon Blackstock in March 2022, ending the marriage after eight years.
“It’s called ‘Chemistry’ because … I was trying to find a word that really described the whole thing,” she said in a Twitter video on Sunday. ”’Cause I didn’t want everybody to think that I was just coming out with some, just, like, ‘I’m angry, I’m sad,’ just one or two emotions. This album is definitely the arc of an entire relationship, and a whole relationship shouldn’t be just brought down to one thing. So there’s the good, the bad, the ugly thing kinda going on in it,” she added.
