A 30-year-old woman died early Saturday when she crashed her car into the back of a flatbed tow truck on a Bronx highway, police said.
The unidentified driver was heading south on the Bronx River Parkway near the Westchester Ave. exit in Soundview about 4:20 a.m. when she crashed into the truck, cops said.
The tow truck driver was responding to a minor two car crash on the highway and was idling near the shoulder when the crash occurred, police said.
The woman was rushed to an area hospital, but she could not be saved. Her name was not released as cops track down family members.
Cops closed down at least one lane of the south-bound Bronx River Parkway Saturday morning as they investigated the crash.
