Imprisoned ‘Tiger King’ subject Joe Exotic is reportedly refusing further medical treatment after hearing that his prostate cancer has spread.
In a letter obtained by TMZ, Joe Exotic said that he met with his urology specialist on Wednesday after experiencing frequent urination and blood in his urine. The doctor suspected that Joe Exotic’s prostate cancer had spread to his bladder and wanted the reality star to undergo tests to confirm that development.
However, the reality star said he’s not seeking treatment. “I want to stay here and just let it take its course,” he wrote in the letter.
The former zoo operator also said he’s still “fighting for the truth” during his time behind bars.
“The world has to know just how corrupt our justice system is,” he wrote, per TMZ. “If I have to be the one to die innocent in here fighting for the truth, maybe people around the world will finally speak up for the truth for once.”
Meanwhile, Joe Exotic is coming up on his 60th birthday, and his birthday wish is to spend quality time with fiancé Seth Posey, whom he met online and later named as the sole beneficiary in his will, according to TMZ.
“I could care less about dying,” Joe Exotic wrote. “My birthday is coming up soon and all I want is to see Seth.”
In January 2020, Joe Exotic was sentenced to 22 years in prison after a federal jury convicted him of two counts of murder-for-hire, eight counts of violating the Lacey Act for falsifying wildlife records, and nine counts of violating the Endangered Species Act.
Two months later, Netflix released the first season of the docuseries ‘Tiger King,’ which detailed Joe Exotic’s rivalry with zoo owner Carole Baskin, the subject of the murder-for-hire plot for which he was convicted.
