Two Poughkeepsie residents have been accused of second-degree murder for roles in the death of a man whose body was found in 2020 in his apartment, the city of Poughkeepsie police said.
Consuelo Leonard, 45, and Rodarius Smith, 35, were charged for what the police alleged was their part in the homicide of Paul Thompson, 64, of Poughkeepsie.
Leonard and Smith were arraigned and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail without bail, according to a police statement issued Monday.
It was not immediately known who represented the accused.
On March 2, 2020, Thompson’s body was found in his 399 Main St. apartment, and his death was ruled a homicide, police said.
Police said Monday the investigation is continuing and asked that anyone with information call 845-451-7577.
The body was discovered after 911 calls requesting a welfare check in an apartment, The Poughkeepsie Journal reported in 2020.
