“The Real Housewives of Atlanta” alum Kim Zolciak-Biermann called 911 on her estranged husband, Kroy Biermann, to say that he was threatening to file kidnapping charges against a friend of hers earlier this month, according to multiple reports.
On Monday, TMZ released audio from a 911 call Zolciak-Biermann placed in Alpharetta, Ga., on June 16.
“I just have a situation here where my husband is threatening a kidnapping, because my girlfriend took my son on a playdate, and now he has harassed not only the mother, but my son is shaking and hysterically crying,” the reality star told the 911 operator. “And now I’m just going to leave and just go pick him up to prevent the situation. I just don’t know what else to do at this point.”
She went on: “My husband, we’re going through a divorce, just came in and said that he’s gonna file kidnapping charges on her. And I said, ‘Absolutely not. I agreed she could take him.’”
Zolciak-Biermann said she called her lawyer, who told her it’s not kidnapping if one parent gives consent.
The 45-year-old also accused Biermann of absconding with her belongings. “My husband did steal my bag that has all my divorce paperwork and all my stuff in it,” she said. “This is just so petty.”
Zolciak-Biermann then told the operator she was leaving to pick up her son but she’d likely have to call back. “I don’t feel like this is gonna be the end of it, to be honest with you tonight,” she added.
According to police report details Us Weekly published on Monday, five phone calls from the estranged couple’s residence came into the local police department between 6:24 and 6:28 p.m. ET on June 16. In the final call, Us reports, the caller said she “doesn’t need police at this time and will call back.”
Zolciak-Biermann, who starred in the first five “RHOA” seasons, married Biermann, a former NFL star, in 2011. They welcomed four children together, and Biermann also adopted his wife’s two children from a prior relationship.
TMZ reported in May that the couple was divorcing and that they owe the Internal Revenue Service a total of $1.1 million in unpaid taxes, interest, and penalties for three tax years. In the weeks since their split first made headlines, Zolciak-Biermann reportedly asked a judge to force her husband to be tested for drugs, and Biermann reportedly filed legal documents alleging his wife has an online gambling problem.
