A teen riding on the back of a motorcycle in Queens was killed early Monday when she was flung to the ground after the speeding operator struck a curb and lost control, police said.
Alyssa Henley died at the scene after the 29-year-old operator, heading north on the Cross Island Parkway, tried to exit onto the ramp for the southbound Whitestone Expressway.
“Alyssa was just 17 years old and would have been graduating high school this week,” the victim’s aunt wrote on GoFundMe. “Alyssa was such a bright soul with a big future and this is so hard for everyone right now.”
The motorcycle’s operator hit a curb and lost control. The motorcycle fell on its right side and Henley flew off her seat and suffered severe head injuries.
Medics took the operator to New York-Presbyterian Hospital Queens in stable condition. He was not immediately charged.
